WALKABLE BALANCE 4

WALKABLE BALANCE 4 is the only diagnostic tool and system in the world that can detect the "FUNCTIONAL HETEROMETRY" of the lower limbs to place the patient in a condition of total decontraction and relaxation, while standing on two feet.

An individual presenting a difference in lower limb length will doubtless reveal a postural disharmony of body and feet, while standing erect.
In fact, if the feet do not present a mirror-like distribution of pressure or position, they reveal postural anomalies influenced by the body structure.

Heterometry can also manifest with inclination or rotation of the pelvis with subsequent curvature or torsion of the spine.
Besides the aesthetic issue, a difference in lower limb length causes several muscle-tendon-skeletal "adjustments" that generate tension, laxity and malfunction of the joints as the patient seeks satisfactory balance. Stiff joints, muscle tone, body mass and age are absolutely subjective factors that suggest personalised compensation in cases presenting the same heterometry. This logical consideration induced us to design a new instrument (Balance). The conceptual simplicity of "Balance" allows to define the compensation required to ensure well-being of the examined subject without errors.

IL BALANCE 4
The ideal condition for physical well-being is decontraction of the body. Having blamed the postural disharmony observed in cases of heterometry on the floor, we decided to remove the 'floor effect' by placing the subject on two independent platforms that sink under pressure, fitted with heel pieces to position the feet and ensuring the erect body position with dedicated reference devices.
Programmed sinking of the platforms will allow the legs to "descend" freely and, if necessary, one more than the other, thus allowing the subject to easily find the right balance and optimal body position.
The reading will indicate the value of heterometry that can be compensated.

The actual compensation required by an individual cannot neglect the habitual footwear used at work, for sports, for domestic chores or other activities. Therefore, we recommend a double measurement, that is also useful to study the impact of shoe heel height in cases of heterometry. Repeated measurements at variable intervals will allow to "accompany" the postural progress with the appropriate compensation until stabilisation.
Balance is fitted with software and remote palm-top that allow to:
• read the difference in load on the display, along with the heterometry that can be compensated;
• data can be blocked on the display for easy transcription;
• perform other procedures for a detailed study of posture.
Before using Balance to record measurements, the subject concerned must be "massaged" by a specialist to eliminate most of the tension or stiffness that would impair correct detection of the value to be compensated.
The next Balance device, which is being created, will have a more intuitive functional system, while respecting the data to be obtained.
